Area Bike Shop Support Provided Through our Team Discount Program

An extensive Team Discount Program is available to our Team and represents a great value to our members.  The sponsoring bike shops not only provide discounts to our members, but they also donate generous amounts of time and energy to support our Training Ride Series, as well as performing bike inspections at our Team Safety Picnic.  They also provide support along the route during the MS 150 and at our Team tent in La Grange.

Our sponsoring bike shops provide a variety of generous discounts that generally apply to Bikes, Clothing & Accessories and Repairs/Labor.  Discounts vary from shop to shop, but can normally save Team members 5-10% on Bikes and an average of 10% on Clothing & Accessories.

Some shops require members to register on-line to receive discounts.  These shops will supply Team members with a discount card.  Other shops require only that you tell the cashier that you are a member of the ExxonMobil Cycling Team.   Each shop's requirements are listed below.  We would recommend that you register early with all the shops that require registration.  Also, it is a good idea to print the Team Discount Program page and have it with you when you visit the shops, just to be sure you are getting the proper discount.

Links to each shop's web site are also provided.  Their web sites often contain a great deal of information about bike selection, bike fit, clothing, equipment and other topics that can make your biking experience more enjoyable.  If you are thinking about purchasing a bike for the MS 150, this reference information can be invaluable in helping sort through the many decisions you will face in finding just the right bike for you.

Better Bikes extends a discount program offer to all ExxonMobil Cycling Team members and their family.  Team members must identify themselves to one of the Better Bikes team at the shop when purchasing products and/or requesting service.

The Discount Program includes:

  • 10% off of all BIKES (excludes sale items)
    - Any bike purchased at the store gets free lubrication and adjustment for as long as the original owner owns the bike

  • SPECIAL $45 TUNE-UP

  • Attend Bike Barn's Monthly Rides - You are invited to attend Bike Barn's Monthly Rides that start from a different location each month and vary from 25 to 60 miles.  Additionally, they have weekly training rides that leave from each of their stores on either Saturday or Sunday.  Rides vary in pace and distance.

    Houston Cycling Centres has been a part of the BP MS 150 for 24 of the 26 years the event has existed.

    Each store is well stocked with accessories needed for the BP MS 150.  They also sell the #1 road bike in the USA -- Trek, and have excellent service departments and quick turn around on repairs.

    Team members should identify themselves as being on the ExxonMobil Cycling Team to receive discounts.  Membership will be verified by the Team Membership Roster, so be sure you have paid your Team dues.

    - Cleaning drivetrain and lubing the chain (we take off the chain and cassette
       and clean it in our machine) we also brush the chainrings and pulleys
       with brushes and cleaner

    - Check tires, cables (inner and housing), and chain for excessive wear
    - Spray wax and clean the frame
  • Major Overhaul for $125 ( a $25 savings ) which includes:

      • Share your tracking number with all of your friends, family, neighbors and other supporters.  When they shop at Sun & Ski Sports and use the tracking number, you will receive a credit for 5% of their purchases to your individual MS 150 pledge fund as well.

      Shop More, Help More:   Each time a Team member shops at Sun & Ski Sports, they will donate 5% of your purchases back to your individual MS pledge fund.

      How It Works:  Team members can click on the link (see above) to register for the 5% Cash Back Program. You will then receive an e-mail containing a card with a unique tracking number. Between now and the close of the BP MS 150 fundraising campaign, you can present their card each time you shop at Sun & Ski Sports. They will automatically track your purchases and make the 5% donation on your behalf.

      Invite Supporters (Friends, Family, Neighbors, etc.) to Help:  Team members can provide our supporters with copies of your unique 5% Cash Back Program card, and every time those persons present this card at Sun & Ski Sports, 5% of their purchase price will be donated to MS on behalf of the Team member as well!!!
